Bisphenol A = TOXIC

Great news for the protection of the environment and human health! The federal government has decided to ban a harmful chemical, called bisphenol A, from plastic baby bottles!

The chemical, commonly found in plastic baby bottles, hard plastic reusable water bottles and the lining of some food cans will be classified as “toxic” under Canadian law. Canada is the first jurisdiction in the world to designate bisphenol A as hazardous to human health and the environment.

For more than a year, Environmental Defence has been calling on the federal government to take action on bisphenol A in food and beverage containers in order to protect Canadians’ health.
