As a result of our work, the province of Ontario passed the Lake Simcoe Protection Act in 2008. As well, the Greenbelt Act of 2005 protects large parts of the Lake Simcoe watershed, south and east of the lake. The Places to Grow Act encourages growth in areas away from sensitive green spaces on which our water, working farms, wetlands and forests depend.
