As part of the growth plan for the Greater Horseshoe area, there are two laws. The first is the Greenbelt Act of 2005 that protects large parts of the Simcoe County watershed to the south and east of the lake. The other is the Places to Grow Act, which encourages growth in areas away from sensitive green spaces on which our water, working farms, wetlands and forests depend.
